All high res Roman sites in Britain, annotated. This post will be updated avery now and then as I locate and add new Roman sites. I'm aware there are quite a few I haven't yet included, so bear with me.

There is no indication on Ordnance Survey that this is a Roman site.

Thats a pity. I wonder why they've not put it on the map?

Which particular site are you referring to? Bear in mind that Ordinance survey only marks the most well known or well-preserved Roman sites.

It was one marked with a ? just to the North of a Radio/TV relay mast, about two miles west of Haltwhistle beside the course of Maiden Way...if that helps.

Is there supposed to be a picture? If so, there isn't anymore.

The ? at 54 35 1.39N 2 54 13.76W is in fact the remains of a moated house built in 15 century.
The ? at 54 57 39.29N 2 30 39.66W is probably not a roman fort, the roman road runs north/south approx 0.9km to west.
The other ? is one of many camps in the area.

I've managed to locate a further 30 or so roman sites which can be added to the main list.
