Great Bitter Barrier

What is this barrier, how is it formed, and why is it being placed within the Great Bitter Lake?

Nevermind. I found a similar barrier further north. It appears to be a floating pipe which is used to pump water inland. It is likely connected to a pipe.

You're right! I forgot that the water is saline. Dredges make a lot more sense then irrigation ships.

Hi,
I know this is a bit late
They are not making land or just pumping sand.
The line is a floating pipes linked to a dredger that is used to maintain the depth of the Suez canal.
In other parts to the north, you may find similar dredgers and pipes that are widening the canal, probably to make it two way channel.
