USA Map in school playground,Walnut Creek,California,USA.
All the best

I think these must be in most playgrounds as I've just found another, that makes three just in this little area. I think I stop now.
I eventually counted 10 maps just in the airport area while searching for planes.
Please see the post by JavaGAR for more Large Maps and Globes Visible on Google Earth.

Hi,
This is a collection of USA maps I have found while searching for aircraft in flight. It is not an extensive collection but rather than overlook them here they are. Some are more clear than others so I have separated them into a couple of folders.
All the best,
ploppy
Updated with many more. 01/12/08 As they are so numerous in future I will only post the ones that are prominent . Sorry.

It's great to see maps in playgrounds, since they are fun for young students, and may help them become them geographically aware. We need to nurture new generations of Google Earth addicts.
I was fascinated by an outdoor USA map at my school when I was a kid, and look what happened!
See Google Earth Community: Large Maps Visible on Google Earth for links to other posts that identify large maps and globes.

Hi JavaGAR,
The reason I stopped when I did was I soon realised how numerous they were and that if I started posting every one I spotted the collection would turn into a bit of a monster.
I think the maps in the playgrounds are a great idea.I can not remember seeing maps in UK playgrounds.
The more fun a lesson is and the more we take part in a lesson, the more we learn. We remember things by being involved and remembering what others taking part in that lesson did. We can also learn things when playing. Sometimes we learn things without even realising it,until we get asked a question, then we wonder how we know the answer. The maps I posted and the other maps I have seen, have not been as colourful as the ones in your Post.If I see any that are as nice I shall post them in future.
All the best

Thanks for noticing the following in my post, and sending the information via pm:

I noticed that couple of the placemarked maps have now gone due to image updates. They are:
http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php/Cat/0/Number/576 Gone and http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php/Cat/0/Number/111 Not Visible due to quality of image.
I am making a notation about that in my post.

Thank you for notifying me, recently, of two Google Earth Community posts that I had not noticed regarding large maps visible on Google Earth.
So that others can take a look at them, I'll list them here:
A map, posted by dOLLYLLAMA: *World Map* on School Playground
A globe, posted by Relyt22: Leisure World Globe (Seal Beach, CA)
Quoting ploppy,

You can view the globe in "Street View" I think the best view is from the bubble positioned here 33°46'2.10"N 118° 4'40.94"W. You can see the US flag as well.
