I have a question, no Idea where to post this, I apologize in advance for any confusion. A group of users on another forum have an ongoing debate and many questions regarding a certain 'anomaly/glitch in the satellites when you look at the Earth with 'Weather' view enabled. Certain shapes show up, mostly 'V' shapes and triangle shapes but also large rectangles and stop sign shapes. Is there a rational explanation for these? is it something to do with the satellites, just a normal mapping thing, etc. Sorry I am not very learned on the proper verbage, etc in describing this. I'll try and attach a pic. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance! http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j84/cyn13ic/?action=view¤t=glitch4mr5.jpg http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j84/cyn13ic/?action=view¤t=glitch3em3.jpg

How did you get from a "Glitch" to a UFO?

Lol. I know, sounds wacky. You wouldn't believe what I've been hearing tho. I frequent another forum that deals with things like UFO's and paranormal, we actually have more skeptics than believers, I think, but anywho, some of them have bought into the Oct. 14th alien visit (Google Blossom Goodchild' or Federation of Light) and take these odd blanked out area's on GE to be the 'cloaked' UFO hanging out near us before it's big reveal on the 14th. I decided to try and find answers at GE itself. I also used UFO in the title, because, obviously, it gets attention and I may get more responses so I can figure this thing out and debunk the 'cloaked UFO' theory. That and also ppl familiar w/ the going's on's (a fellow debunker) may also reply and enlighten me some more on what the cause could be so I have a solid answer.

Blondigeist -
Since you are hanging out with Google Earth, get to know the Community posts regarding supposed UFOs. There are gobs of them. You will probably see that they all have perfectly rational, earth-bound explanations from some very intelligent people. Personally, the obsession with the most complicated explanation possible for natural or manmade phenomena (i.e. "There's a funny streak in the dirt! UFO landing place! Government cover-up!"), drives me nuts. In science, as in art, it's always best to start with simplicity: "Streak in dirt. Dug out by equipment? Natural crevice in surface? Natural color differences in dirt?" Or, as the great architect Mies Van der Rohe said, "Less is more."
Observation of the obvious...deductive reasoning...rational analysis of the known... These are valuable skills in everyday life, as well as on Google Earth.
Best regards, Diane

Okay, so now it's Oct. 17th. Did I miss the big apparition? I didn't see any UFO events on the news, but maybe the alien mind-control waves blanked out my memories...
Back to GE, is it fairly well understood that satellite orbits coupled with missing data can lead to funny, polygonal-shaped "holes" in the weather coverage? There's no reason to suspect anything out of the ordinary, is there? Like government cover-ups, a "cloaked" UFO, or the Crawling Eye?
