There are three prisons at the old RAF Eastchurch site on the isle of Sheppy. None of which are called Eastchurch. They are Swaleside (a category B 'training' prison), Elmley (a category B, 'local' prison) and Standford Hill (an open 'category D' prison).

I was employed by the New York State Department of Correcional Services for 9 years and have had the opportunity to be assighned at the Ossining Correctional Facility (Sing Sing) as a Correctional Officer as well as Taconic CF(male & Female) in Bedford Hills NY & Downstate CF in Fishkill NY. Sing Sing is actualy 2 Prisons in 1 the eastern end of the facility is the main prison Sing Sing, consisting of A & B Block, 5 building, 7 Building the facility Hospital as well as the chapel and a school ect.. The western part of the prison along the Hudson River is called Tappan, it is divided from the main prison by the Merto North Commuter Rail Road tracks. it is a medum security facility which has 3 housing units a yard, gym,industry building and a school which was once the death house (it was converted in the summer of 1983) I am sure there have been many changes since I was there.

The prison in Campobasso region of Molise, Italy is the safest in Europe!
Famous because it is the safest of Europe and still is currently. I grew up in the city and entered it a number of times, no not for what your thinking!
It use to have wild fish and snakes from the surrounding walls back to the street! No escape possible there!! And the city is also boosts the lowest criminality in whole Italy, unbelievable

Interesting, I meant to visit Bang Kwang when I was over last time. I couldnt imagine that Bang Kwang or Bangkok Hilton would be located like that, right smack down in the town. And also it seems like its a rather small complex in comparison to many other prisons, is it?
