Nasa's Earth Observatory has some good landsat imagery of the area, but putting it in the right place is tricky because Keyhole doesn't (yet) cover the area with sufficient resolution. The attachment pulls an image from this page, which I positioned by doing a quick compare & contrast with Worldwind's much better data.

If any of you have Worldwind installed, this should take you to Uluru.

I don't think the shadowy spot is the rock, as it's not very tall and fairly rounded so not likely to cast much shadow.. but I'm not certain exactly where it is, either.
NASA Earth Observatory has a fabulous new pic of the rock taken January 17 but I can't figure out exactly where it goes - hopefully someone else can. The road shown in the pic seems to be just a loop around the rock that isn't shown on the Roads layer - but I can't jive up the roads that are shown in Keyhole with any maps of the area that I've found.

I aligned the overlay attachment as best I could...

Good job Rockman, and pretty close to Phil's original spot.. I guess Keyhole's roads and Ayers Rock label are just wacky in that area.
btw it dawned on me after posting the smaller image above that it is from the same photo you guys are working on so... nevermind lol

The roads are within a national park so may not show on the roads layer. Aboriginal name of Ayres Rock is "Uluru" and is the prefered name by most Australians.
