I have absolutely no political motivations behind this work, so please don't read into any Pro or Anti-War/Bush/Iraqi messages that just aren't there. I just feel for the people that have died on both sides of this conflict (innocent, civilian, military or otherwise), and would like to help other grasp the magnitude of this loss. Complete Amsterdam Guide
Amsterdam, at last a guide for something to do.
I started with a travel guide book. you can find all the important sights there, then go to Google Earth, find the sight, and placemark it. turning on streets can be very helpful finding the places of interest.
Then when you found one, just write a description to it (or copy and paste from a travel website) and post the link to a picture if you want. you can also embed a picture with a html tag.
Thats pretty much it,

I've dedicated the last 12 hours to compile this list of naval bases worldwide.

The real trick that I used was to get the data from the kmz placemarks to a place where I can cut and paste without very much work. Here is what I did.

Anchorages of the Caribbean & More
Anchorage placemarks utilize anchor icons, placemarks which include diving information have dive flag icons, and land based travel utilize either sign posts, Myan pyramids or airplanes. Icons are grouped by region / country / state or year.
California Historic and Geologic Maps
Still fine tuning the interface and adding more maps. Now have about 1,700 map overlays available. I have also color and size coded the image placemarks so that it's much easier to tell where the maps are in relation to each other. Any of the map groups that have "NEW" at the end have been converted over to this index system. Working on converting the others over.
Sculptures Around the World
am new..and as the warning notice suggests, am bubbling with enthusiasm.How about collecting sculptures that actually can be seen on Google Earth. OK, if you want to add museums as well that may be OK and note the presence of a sculpture garden or what have you.
I was just amazed at that I could see Henry Moore's Atom Piece (Nuclear Energy) on the U fo Chicago campus.

The placemark at the head of this post contains a record of all aircraft discovered in flight in GE. It is split into 2 folders, Satellite-captured aircraft, and Aerial photography of aircraft.
It is updated with new finds daily. If you download it (just click on it) and drag-and-drop it into My Places and make sure it is enabled, and you'll instantly know if any finds that you make have been spotted before. Cornwall Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves
The attached file gives Google Earth placemarks for all 54 CWT reserves, together with a brief description of each one and a link to the CWT website for more information.
The topographic detail is somewhat limited in some areas, but hopefuly Google will improve on this in due time. If anyone knows of a source of more detailed views, that perhaps could be added as overlays, I'd be most interested.

This is a special mention placemark collection.
Vietnam - US Facilities
Please find attached 289 placemarks of US facilities in Vietnam that were constructed sometime between '65 and '72. Thanks to all the veterans out there in cyberland who have posted their photos, maps and stories. It was with these that I was able to nail down, to within tens of feet, the locations of these places. I hope that you, the user, will click on the links to see where I received the information for the placemarks, and to read the notes, stories and photos uploaded by American veterans of the Vietnam War.
I have also included a small number of locations of significant fighting, but only because I came across some info on them and figured I’d include them. I am sure there are thousands more of these points to add.
I have been working on this in the evenings for the past 2 months, and I will be hopefully be updating this file periodically. If anyone finds any errors or additions, please post them.
