Claes Oldenburg is a sculptor, best known for his public art installations typically featuring large versions of everyday objects. Another theme in his work is soft versions of normally hard objects.
Oldenburg was born in Stockholm, Sweden, but moved to America as a child in 1936. He studied at Yale University and the Art Institute of Chicago. One of his first large works was Lipstick (Ascending) on Caterpillar Tracks, which consists of a giant tube of lipstick placed vertically atop tank treads. It was originally installed in Beinecke Plaza at Yale, and now resides in the Morse College courtyard. He has collaborated since 1976 with Dutch/American pop sculptor Coosje van Bruggen. They were married in 1977 and work together.
Unless otherwise stated, dimensions are given as height x width x depth. All works by both artists except in two cases, where indicated with an asterisk

It appears as though the artists' official website (www.oldenburgvanbruggen.com) is down, so the pictures provided will not show (except for a few from other sites), so bear with me until their website comes back.
And if you know the locations of any other Oldenburg/van Bruggen works, post them so I can add them to the file!

Dear RyanConn:
I posted a Berlin, Germany location of a sculpture by the two artists under the name "Houseball" in this forum.
Didn't know how to include the Placemark here, so I hope you can include it in your list.
Quite fun to look at this one - the shadow of the object is clearly visible, as is the outline of the former church located on the site, destroyed in WWII.

Location of placemark is off by about .1 miles south and a bit east. Spot marked is actually a children's playground in Sherwood Park.

It appears my little ol' project hasn't been getting very much attention. How sad Contributions are always welcome and I will attempt to expand it over the next few days/weeks
Until then, it has been updated with a new sculpture

Interesting project.
There is one missing, you can find it in the kml I attached here. The sculpture is called "needle thread and knot" and was made in 2000.

I love their work, and it was you that introduced me to them
There's one in Eindhoven, but it has already been placemarked here by Vogias.

Alright! Thanks a million Felippo! The collection has been updated.
Oh, and Phil, when I was showcased in the gallery I sent a bunch of my friends there and when they saw who made it, they absolutely flipped. I am without a doubt, one of the more famed people at my school now.

Great to hear Ryan - fame is deserved here. You have achieved true respect (without having to go on Big Brother first ).
I was in Philadelphia only a couple of weeks ago and took this image for you. It's the "Clothes Pin" on 15th and Market St.
Thanks Phil
