Sometimes Earth can be seen from above as an enormous art gallery, full of paintings with abstract and geometrical shapes, colours, shadows and textures. Each place is unique in its beauty, yet bearing the signature of a single artist that created it: Nature (or God if one prefers to see it that way).

Nature paints mixing the basic elements of air, water, fire and ground. It takes time, sometimes millions of years to accomplish something that we can view today as a work of art - a work that never finishes but keeps on changing for ever.
Here are some amazing colours and shapes in Australia, one of nature's favourite continents for artistic expression.

Looking at Earth from a different perspective, admiring it like a work of art of outstanding proportions. All places have beauty in them, form and context that withstand the temporary markings of mankind.
It gives me pleasure to unveil such spots and find a way to frame them in a picture. In a sense, I'm only a intermediate, since the true creator of those artworks surpasses any artist who ever lived.
Please feel free to save those postmarks (better disable compass, status bar and layers first), share them or use them as desktops, even add your own pictures to the collection.

Another Earth view, a bit surreal this time. If you want to save those images, try to experiment in Photoshop or some other image editing software, by changing contrast and hue, saturation, adding filters etc. There's a huge visual feast out there, not just landmarks and hometowns.

Another work of art made by nature, looks like a terrified face in profile. Somewhere in Alaska. I love the colours and shapes. Check out the rest of my collection - all placemarks that explore the beauty of our strange planet.

A beautiful view of the Bahamas, yet another of nature's wonders. The colours and shapes of the sea look like they have been painted by an artist's brush.
