Yes, Hill's Bay Area image looks just like the inside of an eye:
The retina , with its red and purple blood vessels. Yes, I do see this and its infinite variety of pattern, all day long in my work....using the Ophthalmoscope:
...and now, thanks to Hill , and Keyhole-Google, I get to see this again, at home with the GE Earthoscope!

Hi, there,
Here's an Iranian Keyholer!
It is a dune field, called Lut Desert. In fact this is a part of Lut desesrt, and you can see the other part in the attachment.
I have not visited it, nor I can give you a detailed geographical explanation.
