"El Pueblo de Bubión se encuentra en el centro del barranco de Poqueira, entre los pueblos de Pampaneira y Capileira, a 1.324 mts de altitud. Tiene una población de 366 habitantes y a sus vecinos se les conoce como Bubioneros. Hace unos diez años Bubión tenía la hegemonía turística de la zona de la Alpujarra, pero hoy en dia le han ganado la partida sus vecinos, Pampaneira y Capileira.

Bubión sigue fielmente conservando las características propias de la Alpujarra, tanto en gastronoíia como en las construcciones."
