This has been moved from the Travel Information Forum to the Open Forum. It will still be available for download, but not appear in the Community placemarks in GE.

I AM NOT MAINTAINING OR UPDATING THIS DATA IN ANY WAY.
Here's the deal: I did an experiment to see if I could get all the Starbucks coordinates from their website. I thought the results were interesting, so I posted my KMZ file to the GE forum. For whatever reason, it got ranked high enough to show up in the list of Community placemarks. Now I'm getting all kinds of mail, asking me to either correct the database, or to take it down entirely. I can't win.
Personally, I would rather support local businesses, and it makes me sad to be branded the "evil Starbucks guy". I will leave my KML file on the forum, but will try to find a way to not have it show up by default in GE. For now, just uncheck "Travel Information", and all the bad Starbucks will go away. Sorry it got out of hand.
Feel free to use this file to create your own database. I'm done.
I am new to this...but, you have listed this location as Super Target West Palm Beach ST-19 - This entry is incorrect. This is the intersection of Okeechobee Blvd and Royal Palm Beach Blvd. The location hilighted is the Winn-Dixie Shopping Center...across the street from it, is the Publix Shopping Center. I don't know who posts the titles or corrects them, but, I just wanted to point this out to you.
well your Starbucks for Glenferrie Road Melbourne - Victoria - Australia is about where they should all be ! In the middle of a parklands where people walk dogs - and just across the rail line from the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind.
hMMM WELL i Guess I could map all the coffeeshops in the local area. I mean there are a lot more than Starbucks. I can't remember any real coffeeshops in Watsonville although there is a small resturant across from the Plaza Park.
If you are going to insist on keeping this landmark up you should post a warning about how loading it will paste markers all over the map like a plaque of locusts - though that is an apt analogy for Starbucks...
Really - this is pointless. In most of the developed world you can't turn around and spit without hitting a Starbucks (and spitting on them falls within my definition of Good Things To Do) - so what need is there for a worldwide guide to their locations?

I think this post is cute, especially since I worked for Starbucks for a short period of time. ^_^ But about that: The Starbucks labelled "Randalls-The Woodlands #2617" should be on the corner of 1488 and 242--this was actually the starbucks I worked at for 6 1/2 months. ^_^; It looks like there's nothing there on that corner, but there is. I guess it hadn't been built when these satellite images were taken. ~Moongirl

it would be nice if the name of the place marks actually said "Starbucks" in it instead of the name of the town it is, which doesn't really tell you anything.
I think it's great that someone wants to create this type of database. This and the Miss World database, and others. I read in another thread that you can use pictures (as in company logo) instead of the pushpins or chess pawns for the markers. Thanks Don P.S. My wife and I really enjoy the coffee. Probably too much.

the thing which bothered me about your placemark file is that all one sees in the information is the location, without any indication of what it actually is. I'd much rather see the little i come up saying "Starbucks, Park and Central" instead of just "Park and Central", so I've edited your file so that the names start with "Starbucks:", with the location name afterwards (a nice easy global replace).
please help me. Google Earth already has an icon for coffee shops, though, right? They're one of those things that generall comes with the program, pre-set. However, when a new Starbucks opens, it probably takes the Google Earth officials 3 to 9 months to add an icon for it... thats where an Earth Community marker would come in. Just thinking out loud
If we uncheck Travel Information to be rid of the starbucks markers, what other markers will we lose?
Would it be reasonable to temporarily remove the starbucks list until Google Earth finds a way to selectively remove each marker or marker set so we don't have to lose other info to be rid of the starbucks markers?
At the next vector update, this attachment (all of Starbucks) won't appear in the Google Earth Community layer at all because it has been moved to the Open forum.
Honestly, with a Starsucks on just about every fricken street corner, I really don't care to see the location of them worldwide. (And if you need to know where one is while travelling, you're part of the problem, and not the solution..)
Your mark for "Destin Commons" is off quite a bit. Go directly left of where the mark is until you run into the HUGE shopping center beside Hwy 293. That's where the Starbucks (and the HardRock) are located.

Starbucks is evil: they have terrible service (generally) and terrible coffee (always). They take money from local business owners. Support local business: avoid Starbucks!
