Mythbusters is one of my favourite shows on the Discovery Channel - always a great idea to merge fun and science

One of the presenters Jamie Hyneman (the one with the long moustache!) is the CEO and founder of a visual effect company known as M5 Industries - their company is placemarked here

Enjoy!
Cheers,
Phil, UK

Yes, has anyone found the actual location of the place they film the show though? I cant find it anywhere.

Hello, Before you post up a new placemark, check it isnt already been posted by a: ticking the box-

b:searching the forums, as it might take time for it to appear on the map

Look after the BBS!, dont clog up the same placemark unless you have something new to add to it! (like a map)

If you go to that website, theres alot of things i never knew.

Theyre both really talented guys, and M5 and Jamie have worked on some cool stuff.

I hate to have to do this to you but are you sure that your placemark is in the right place.

I think the placemark from theficus post is the accurate location. I have also quickly added a few placemarks of my own to better illustrate my point.

Sorry

Looks like I got the wrong building - I wasn't sure whether it was the north or south building, so thank you very much for the correction

Cheers,
Phil

If you mean where they do lots of their experiments, then yes.

Pretty much directly across the water to the East is the Alameda NAS. This is the "abandoned runway" they do much of their taping at. There's a placemark there already. This is also where the Matrix Reloaded freeway chase was. There's lots of movie studios and special effects companies located on the former NAS there.

South-East of the NAS is Encinal High School (enable Schools if you can't find it). The swimming pool there is where they have done several underwater experiments, including the scuba diver sucked into a water helicopter one. The swimming pool is pretty obvious as it is quite bright blue.

I've attached a placemark for the NAS.

-- Big Mythbusters fan, and former Alameda resident.
