This is the famed surf beach (the real Bells Beach, not the pretender shown in the movie Point Break).

Unfortunately, most of the state of Victoria in Australia is still low resolution. One day!



Bells Beach is one of the most famous surf breaks in the world. Bells, as it is affectionately known, is part of the area known as the Surf Coast in the state of Victoria. Every Easter it is the home of the Bells Beach Surf Classic which is one of the events on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Tour. The winner of the event traditionally rings the the much prized trophy which, not surprisingly, is a bell.



The event has been classified by the Victorian Government as one of the state's six Hallmark International Sporting Events.

The nearest town to Bells Beach is Torquay, just a few kilometres away. Torquay is located at the start of the Great Ocean Road, one of the world's most scenic roads. Torquay is also the birthplace of famed surfing labels Rip Curl and Quiksilver, both companies being started by local surfers in the late sixties.
