Santa Fe, ES
(Granada suburbs)
on 37.18, -3.71
shows a very poor alignment which becomes more evident with roads on.
i think it was already brought up, but the whole square of high resolution around Granada is 450 m. displaced

The Granada suburbs have been noted in the Misalignment listing since early 2006.

I suppose the brightness of the image must be boosted to see something of the tiny dark Hawaiian island of Kaula.

Re: Data Problems > Place Names -- India [Re: PriceCollins]

Here's some fairly important ones:

The northern state of Uttaranchal in India was officially renamed Uttarakhand on January 1, 2007. This has not yet been reflected in any of the Google Maps which seems to reflect a big oversight or an oddly long lag period between updates. The same goes with Pondicherry which was renamed Puducherry in September 2006!

The marker for its provisional capital of Dehradun is also erroneous and ends up some field to the southeast of the city. It should be: lat=30.33357, lon=78.04776

I was wondering what happens to the corrections cited in this forum. Do they eventually go to Google and their data providers? It has been months since I filled out the online form to report data problems, with no word on when corrections will be pushed through.

All of the problems noted in this Compendium are reported to Google. They do not announce when or if corrections will be made.

Re: Data Problems Compendium - Inverted Sat Image! [Re: PriceCollins]

Unless I am very much mistaken...the satellite image of Kawasaki Island in Tokyo Bay is inverted North for South...either that or the Poles have flipped a few thousand years early and Tokyo's shadows now point South

This post covers it, I believe....
