Biscuit Bomber- (Nickname) Douglas C-47 Skytrain, during the Berlin Airlift.
They were also called this prior to the Berlin Blockade/Berlin Airlift because C-47's and other transports ferried and dropped supplies to the troops. Another nickname for the cargo planes of the Berlin Airlift was the German term rosinenbomber (raisin bomber). Wikipedia link

Other nicknames over time - Gooney Bird, Skytrooper, Tabby, Cab, Dumbo, Sister Gabby, Spooky, Puff the Magic Dragon, Dowager Dutchess, Old Methuselah, The Placid Plodder, Dizzy Three, Old Bucket Seats, Duck, Dak, Dakleton, Vomit Comet
And thank you Noisette , for this video by Michael Palin, showing a restored roseninbomber over Berlin.

This is a DC-3 at Evergreen Aviation Museum. There is a C-47 also outside. First flown in airline service in 1936, many DC-3s are still flying today. Originally built as the DST (Douglas Sleeper Transport), the DC-3 design instantly made every other aircraft in passenger service an antique. The DC-3 is unquestionably one of the greatest airplanes ever made. First flown in airline service in 1936, many DC-3s are still flying today. Originally built as the DST (Douglas Sleeper Transport), the DC-3 design instantly made every other aircraft in passenger service an antique. It was ultra-modern, big and fast. This airplane was the first delivered to United Air Lines on November 25, 1936 and is the second oldest surviving Douglas DC-3A. Named the Mainliner Reno, it was also the first to be fitted with Pratt & Whitney supercharged engines. The Reno pioneered many of United’s routes from coast to coast. She is still airworthy today.

The DC-3 that Genehil has placemarked is at the Smash Palace Winebar.. See Below

ZK-BKD (c/n 13521 ex 42-93592 VH-ANU) C-47A //snip// Sold to the Mt Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Company on October 25, 1961, it was the first of three DC-3s owned by the company. When the DC-3's were phased out in favour of HS748, BKD went back to NAC (July 3, 1970), but was sold onto Fieldair (July 13, 1970). The aircraft entered service on August 28, 1971 as the first DC-3 to wear Fieldair titles. //snip// and the aircraft was subsequently transported to Gisborne where it now serves as a wine bar.
In 1968 my wife and I flew to Nelson. I am in the middle of scanning 1000's of Negatives. And I came accross this one taken before we boarded.
The image below is the DC-3 ZK-BKD that took us there. Photographed at the the Harewood Airport on the day we left.. (Now Christchurch International Airport.)
