I suspect it is some of these fuselages at Lop Buri which are in the collection. There are helicopter fuselages next to them.

Ilyushin Il-14 [Re: carmedic]
      #1141209 - 03/29/08 09:57 AM

No, but it looks very similar except for the wing shape. The Soviets made the Li-2 under license, but went on to develop their own plane, the IL-14, which had very similar characteristics. Note the tricycle landing gear in this image of your plane from the Panoramio layer.
It looks like a DC-3 with the wings on backward.

Here's more about the IL-14 .

Hi Regarding dc-3 fuselage Anchorage, AK. Aerial view does not reflect current updates to Anchorage Int'l airport. The fuselage and the c-119 next to it were moved after ramp expansion on the north end of the field. I started working there in 6/07 and saw the fuselage at the south end of the NWA cargo operation there. I subsequently took a picture of the fuselage as it was trailered out the gate on the way to a local recycling operation. The c-119 yet remains. Well, no picture at this time 'till I figure out the "file attachment" stuff. As Well, if you move .39 mi E of the 2 on the S end of the field you'll find another one. Drove over there today and there are more yet E again. (not on the current sat photo) Probably the same birds. Some in FAA livery.

I do believe "the Strange" is a Grumman Mallard. I used to work on one...

It is always a good idea to check the Google Earth Community Forum layer, which is where previous placemarks are identified. To activate the layer, just check the box.

You will find the information useful for confirmation of the plane.
