At the time I write this post, this plane also is visible at Boeing Field near Seattle.

Right now this DC-2 is also visible in GE at Van Nuys Airport in Southern California.

I believe this is the one that once served as a sort of signpost for the museum. Many aviation fans, and particularly DC-3 fans, were very upset by the way the plane was displayed. For more see my original post and its links about the plane. Airliners.net has a view of the way it is displayed now. It is still not on their official collection list.

I used to live under the flight path for small planes near Long Beach Airport (LGB).

You could hear the DC-3 coming in on approach in the afternoon everyday from Catalina.

C-46 and C-47 at Gimli, Manitoba [Re: carmedic]

Good finds. I'm adding them to the main collection folder, but as a C-47 (they have large cargo doors and are most often used for cargo operations) and a Curtis C-46. The darker plane (the C-46) has a different shaped tail and about a 10' (3m) longer wingspan.
