JP,
Nicely done and interesting choices. I assume you opted to model the top but not the face of the dam because the terrain already shows the face and would poke through any 3D geometry superimposed over it.
Too bad the spillways can't be modeled, but there is no way to "excavate" the terrain surface.
Do you plan to model the powerplant?

Yes, I liked this model too. I made it part of a story today at Google Earth Blog.
Read the story here which also includes several other 3D models posted here and in other places on the Internet recently.

JP,
The cliff-hanging building is actually the Carl Hayden Visitor Center. I've visited the dam many times over the past decades.
The strip building at the foot of the dam is the powerplant.

Hey, great model. I hate the fact that the original bridges look so cheesy underneath a 3d bridge, so I erased the original in this overlay. Feel free to package it with updates of your bridge.

Nice job Greg! "Retouching" the GE imagery to make it more realistic is a nice touch. I gave you guys credit and wrote up a story about this at the Google Earth Blog.
Read the story here.
Here's a comparison image I made:

Hello Greg,
It is good to see your post just after completing Finals !!
The overlay looks great and is bundled in the Edited Canyon Model with credits
This canyon was my first GE attempt and have since learned a bit here and there since its development.
The overlay adds a great deal of enhancement to the model, your ovrlay is very much appreciated.
Merci Bookoo .... (many thanks)

Frank,
without a doubt , the overlay removes a lot of "noise" from the model.
