The plane at upper right is a MiG-15 'Fagot'. The two to the left are it's American counterpart, the North American Aviation F-86 'Sabre'.The red plane at lower right is not so readily identifiable. Still working on this one, that new tarmac makes shadow id near impossible. Is probably a trainer of some type, closest I can come is a Pilatus PC-9/Beech T-6A 'Texan II', which would probably make for a good racer. North of this viewpoint is what appears to be a Cessna T-37/A-37 "Tweety Bird" (w/ the wingtip tanks) the basic jet trainer of the USAF. And to the west is a pair of P-3 Orions. These look to be civilian aircraft, as a number of them have been converted into firebombers. The lower one looks to be in the conversion process, as it still has it's tailboom.

Actually, the two jets to the left side are Mig-15's and the one to the right is a Mig-17. The F-86 wing span ranged from 37' to 39' and the length ranged from 37' to 40'. While the Migs were pretty constant wing span of 31' to 33' and a length right at 36'. Making those 3 jets Migs for sure. Notice they are all the same length with the 2 on the left being slightly wider. And the other item... Aviation Classics has Mig 15's and 17's, no 86's.

So then, is it legal to own a mig and fly it around? I ask because a guy I sat beside on an airplane was telling me that some guy he sold video equipment to in CO flew around in a Mig. I have yet to decide wether I belive this or not.
My boss tried a few years ago. Apparently you can buy one, you just can't bring it into the country very easily.

He tried to buy a Russian MiG jet fighter, but US customs wouldn't allow it and he blatantly upset San Jose-area officials by landing his private jet after the 11pm curfew imposed in the area. When you have $50 billion in the bank, a $10,000 fine seems like pocket change. Any guy who likes to defy convention and authorities, and flies fighter jets for fun, has to be cool. It's part of the definition.
Secret Wish: That he obtains his Russian MiG jet fighter and does a very low (and very loud) swoop by Mr. Gates' residence.

Given that starting point, I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous (global warming) is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are..." -former Vice President Al Gore, Grist Magazine, May 9, 2006
Yup,
According to the FAA registration database there are 32 Mig-15's, 9 Mig-17's, 33 Mig-21's, 2 Mig-23's and 2 Mig-29's registered in the US. But, none of them are registered in Colorado. This doesn't mean he didn't move or have it registered in another state.
Just noticed * THIS * & wondered how he's doing now compared to esterrett's May 2000 * LINK * above .
Googled "Larry Ellison" , he's definately a fascinating fellow & the same age as me . I've taken a small scale risk or two that worked out ok , but any similarities probably pretty much end there .
**** Oh , my point, what happened with his MIG 29 ? ****
norwegian , maybe you could you look at * THIS * if you get a chance ? ' "MUUUUU!!" Jag grät i flera timmar efter det. '
Guess I ought to let Larry himself have the * LAST WORD * " Let me know when you're worth 16 billion dollars, kid. Then you might have an ice cubes chance at getting me to listen to you. "
