I was just looking at this and it appears this placemark was placed when the view was very high above Barcelona. When you go to street level it is obvious that this placemark is way off its mark.

As I just noticed, the placemarks in the 'Google Earth Community' -> 'Google Earth Community Forums' folder have been updated with the latest french version of the World Heritage List.
The english version, that can be found under 'Google Earth Community' -> 'Community Showcase' however, was not updated. I will wait for a few more weeks, then I will try to contact one of the moderators on how to update those placemarks too.
So for the most recent version it is always best to download the placemarks from the first post.
Enjoy!

Hi Herminator,
I'm afraid you're off by about a mile to the North.
The Mining site of Petite Spiennes lies around 50° 25' 11" N/ 003° 58' 45" E. The Camp-à-cayaux site is situated around 50° 25' 07" N/ 003° 59' 18". At those last coordinates you can even see the chalky fill of the prehistoric shafts in the field.
Shall we move the mark accordingly??
Greetings, Ranzo

UNESCO's World Heritage Council just finished it's 30th session and is in the process of updating the World Heritage list to bring it to 830 sites worldwide, including the new inscriptions for 2006.
Quote:
During its current session, chaired by Ina Marciulionyte, Chairperson of the World Heritage Committee and Permanent Delegate of Lithuania to UNESCO, 18 new sites were inscribed. They include two natural sites and the extension of one natural site, which also became a transboundary property. Sixteen cultural sites were inscribed, one of them transboundary and three existing sites were extended. Improvements in the state of conservation of five sites warranted their removal from the List of World Heritage in Danger, while two sites were added to that list, which now numbers 31 sites. Mauritius had its first site added to the List during this session.
As soon as the list is complete, I will make the new placemark set available, of course, including all 18 new inscriptions.
Until then, Enjoy!

The people at UNESCO are really working fast! All 18 new inscriptions have been integrated into their website since last night, so, the new placemark set has been generated.
They also did a lot of minor corrections, so check out your favourite sites!
So, please re-download the english version here, ou la version française ici.
Enjoy!

Just to remember that information for google earth are also available in englsih and french at http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/kml http://whc.unesco.org/fr/list/kml
This kml with networks links is organised by states parties, some trans-national properties appear multiple times, we are figuring to correct that. We plan also to work on a dynamic kmz file.
WHC is still correcting coordinates. You can write to wh-support@unesco.org for corrections.
Thanks to Herminator for his active work.
