Connection problems
      #488217 - 07/01/06 07:29 AM

I have been using ver 3.0.0762 for some time without any problems and installed beta4. I am now unable to connect and get error c000000c, even when I reinstalled ver 3.0.0762!

Nothing else has changed to my knowledge - running Win XP firewall, AVG, AdAware Se and Firefox.

Any suggestions welcome.

Neil

Hi

Try first turning off firewall and Norton. If it works, it means you need to make exceptions for the GE.

Tell what happens for further help.

The problem was caused by Internet Explorer as per PenguinOpus' posting. I hardly ever use IE (Firefox is my default browser) but it clearly had a problem as it wouldn't even load until I had rebooted. It then loaded okay and connected (it wasn't then marked as working offline, but I assume that was the problem).

After that GE loaded okay (only 3.0.0762, but thats a good start).

I didn't realise IE was active at all times and think it was stopping other utilities connecting.

Many thanks to TheLedge and GEC.

Neil
