OK. Just wondering. Are there any sled drivers following this forum for the blackbird? Would be interesting to hear if there was.

Most Sled drivers would have checked out where all their birds have ended up for sure. Using Google Earth would be logical for a spy plane pilot, you know, looking down from a familiar view and all.

There is one in BattleShip Park in Mobile, AL. But it is indoors. You can see it on their site.

you should move 60-6933 over to the southwest a touch, but other than that, Great post! are they all working, or are some just scaled models?
-------------------- Someone showed me a glass of water that was filled halfway. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" I drank the water. No more problems.

Hi meeatu,
Thanks
They are all real decommissioned aircraft.
60-6933 is the aircraft's serial number with which you can research it's history.

Hi everybody! I'm sure you know about the Tom Mahood's "The Hunt for 928" on "http://www.serve.com/mahood/a-12/index.htm". Part of Nevada got new pictures now and the mentioned area is on High Res...good hunting. I was not able to transfer the mysterious hints of mahood into an exact crash site position but i marked some of the locations he mentioned.

Oh, the A12 crash. Been there, done that. ;-) http://www.lazygranch.com/h4h4928_2.htm
There is so little debris there, it will not be spotted on Google Earth. Even the F-4 crash near Rachel doesn't show up very well, and there is plenty of debris there.
To the best of my knowledge, this is where Ray landed 37°15'41.82"N 114°21'5.92"W At least visually. As you know, GE isn't very accurate. I really couldn't make much of the Ray landing site.

Great effort - great story! Thanks a lot! Regarding the newspaper elements of your link...does your position of "Ray" mean that the debris you found are a further 3 miles to the east ? Greetings from rambo54
