The area above the placemark is, as you will see, greyed out and above that it's simply blurry. Just at the bottom of the grey area, near the southeast corner, is a structure of some kind. Possible a mobile launcher?

Which begs the question, why does Google oblige china by graying out areas like this, but every US military base is in glorious high definition?

Who said Google is cooperating with China? Maybe the US government doesn't want China to know that we know what's in that area. Maybe it was just a satellite error that Google was covering up. There could be a number of explanations.

I have added this to the Data Problems Compendium under Censorship in THIS POSTING

It is representative of a new growing type in China, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates - a grayed out area and a larger blurred area north of the grayed area.

These areas are NOT censored in Windows Live Local; and they are NOT censored in the original DigitalGlobe images. Links are now provided in the posting to both sources for each instance.

The grayed areas extend beyond the images as provided by DigitalGlobe, so they were added later.
