Hello gdegreef,
When time permits please review the attachment to this post.
It is the same parcel map as my previous post with the exception that the parcel pgons were shifted N .18 prior to export from ESRI.
In the views N, S, E, W you will note the bldg structures of the GE aerial now fall within the parcel boundaries of the ESRI export.
toggle the model off and note the fence lines in the GE aerial toggle the model back on and note parcel lines coencide with the GE aerial.
still curious why this occurs ...any ideas?

Hello barnabu,
try this:
open model in GEv4 right click the placemark > select properties >select style,Colors tab >select share style button > select OK at the bottom of the Style,Color window and repeat the process..
on the 2nd run, when the Style,Color options window opens change to the following.
for line options color box=white width =.3 opacity =20%
for the area options color box = white pulldown box = filled and outlined opacity =80% random colors box = checked
click ok at bottom of window, if for some reason the changes do not take , run the process again......
color selection box for area fills: (building colors) white = random all colors green = random green hues dominate brown = random brown hues dominate red = random red hues dominate etc .....
**********
perhaps in the future GE will provide this process as an option for the buildings layer so that we will have custom viewing preferences as an option.

Joey,
If I understand what your questions are about correctly, I think what you are seeing is a documented problem with many images in the Google Earth database. Google gets the images from a variety of providers and some of the data is older than others. The data is not always properly converted/projected to the proper coordinate system and I suspect some of the providers just "eyeball" the placement. I've found numerous cases where the photos are off by many feet/meters in different directions. In some cases, because it is a projection problem, the error is different from one corner of the image to the other.

Frank, your input very much appreciated
was not aware of aerial projection prolems, and i can understand the provider/eyeball comment since i have seen it first hand though not for the GE world. I guess this is somewhat necessary and expected when utilizing an array of aerial resolutions.
your post gives me a much better understanding as to why:
* in the gulf of mexico, no notable error (since there are no ground features to reference) *grin*
* why image overlays positioned with raster extents from esri do not overlay with GE terrain, though those extents are necessary for alignment of pgons & pts exported to SU or GE from ESRI. (if i use raster extents for terrain overlays i end up having to stretch/reposition/rotate the overlay to coencide with the GE aerial, then this forces me to do the same for the model .... and so on .... and so on ..)
i am thinking my best bet would be to keep the raster extents from gis instead of doing the force fit thing, which i so much oppose, geesh i can be such a hypocrite, ha!
thanks again for giving an understanding...
