Because somebody had to do it.

Not the highest-res version of what appeared on moon.google.com today, just more of an appetizer of what I hope one day we get for real, with altitudes, etc...

Turn off the atmosphere and Terrain, obvs, and don't zoom in too close.

You need to change the image projection to do this correctly. Resize the image to double the width and project it onto a horizontal cylinder and your map will be correct.

You need to "uncheck" the file you just downloaded in the "Places" window.
