Moon as viewed from Earth(viewer)
      #548 - 03/10/03 09:12 PM

View in Google Earth         View in Google Maps (32943 downloads)

Well, someone (Huge) asked for an overlay of the Earth's Moon.

Best I could do.

Turn off: Atmosphere and borders

Then zoom out a bit and give it a little spin. We sure are lucky to have the pretty side facing us!

Ah yes... got to be careful when linking to someone elses site...
Thanks PenguinOpus for catching my "Bad".

Updated Overlay 10/10/2005, to KMZ

Very nice job! But it also helps to turn off populated places and geographic features or the Sea of Tranquility becomes the North Pacific.

May I ask what version of Keyhole are you using? Being new to the game I'm trying to follow your posts... it seems that I'm using the wrong one!

If you are looking at my earlier posts, from 2003, the versions of the Viewer have changed. In the beginning there was a void, then there was version 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, and then we jumped up to version 2.x. 2.x is what you have. So some of the early posts may not seem to match the viewer we all have now. However, all of the placemarks and overlays should work. The internals are just a little different as are the controls for the viewer. I hope that helps. Also, the different varieties of the viewer will all display both placemarks and overlays. This includes EC, Pro, NV, and LT, both paid and trial versions.

Can anyone tell me why my screen turns silver gray when I try to view this. I found boarder and turned it off but I couldn't find atmosphere. After that I had to reboot to see any of the tiara layer.

When I tried this (withnthe boarders and atmosphere off) it said, "Image Not Found", and the "moon" is white with the letters above on it. What am I doing wrong?!?!?
