***NOTICE: Please do not post schools/universities in this forum, but rather use this forum.

Mission and Highlights
The purpose of this forum is to provide educators a place to discuss how they have used, or plan to use Google Earth in the classroom.

In this forum, we encourage educators to publish tools and collections they have used in the classroom to help and inspire other educators around the world. An example of this is Google Earth Community member Russel_Tarr. A few of his highlights include: learning how to identify bias information in the Middle East Crisis, the Tsarist Russia in 1914, and documenting the causes of WWII. We recommend you also browse through the Tools forum of the Google Earth Community for more ideas.

www.gelessons.com is a website by and for teachers that provides educators with tools needed to enhance their instruction using Google Earth. The website includes lesson plans and video tutorials to teach educators and students how to use Google Earth. They also encourage teachers to submit lessons, which can be done here.

Google Earth Educators Community is another website where educators can share ideas about Google Earth. Also, step-by-step instructions show educators how to create eye-catching presentations with Google Earth (by demonstrating basic HTML tags). This webpage is not associated with Google.

Updated! June 2008 Google For Educators: Google Earth
Google has created an official site for sharing educational ideas for teachers. Teachers are also encouraged to share what they have made/used with Google Earth. You can visit it here. If you have other educational ideas, share them with educators-feedback@google.com.

Google Earth Education Program
The Google Earth Education Program offers schools and districts a free subscription to Google Earth Pro ($400 annually). Many schools around the world are expanding their horizons with this program. Prospective schools and districts are encouraged to fill out the application. In the application, make sure you choose "Google Earth Pro" for the Product category. Also, see this post for more information.

NEW!! Here's another must-see site for English teachers...

Google Lit. Trips offers another way of teaching great literature. Students can "discover where in the world the greatest road trip stories of all time took place." The site features great collections such as The Aeneid, The Grapes of Wrath, and Night, and continues to add more! Check it out here.
