can't open kml file from command line
      #598201 - 09/15/06 02:56 PM

I have Google Earth on a Fedora Core 5 system. I wrote a shell script to import the GPS data from my garmin forerunner 205 using gpsbabel, convert it to kml and open in Ggoogle Earth. However, using the command "googleearth garmin.kml" Google Earth starts up fine but then says that it couldn't open the file for reading. Google Earth will open that same kml file fine if I select it to open in the GUI or drag the file onto the window. Any suggestions as to how I can have Google Earth open the kml file from a shell script?

I have done this on a Fedora core 6 machine using a shell script. I think you just need to put the full path name for the script.
