Dear all,
At PalestineRememeberd.com, we have compiled the most complete mapping of Palestine (over 3,000 placemarks have been identified) including:
- All cities & villages that were destroyed and ethnically cleansed by the Israelis.
- All cities & villages in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
- All refugee camps including the camps in Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
- All existing Palestinian town (including the unrecognized villages) within Palestine-1948 (or the "green line").
- All exclusive Jewish colonies (Israeli towns) including the colonies in the West Bank.
- All major highways, roads and junctions.
- Several well known concentrations camps.
At PalestineRemembered.com 's lab, we have built a unique software (currently in beta release) that allows you to add placemarks (via Google maps). Daily, the software compiles all newly added placemarks to the the over all listing, so we appreciate you participation and feedback.
Our sources are as follows:
- The mass majority for the destroyed villages' coordinates were provided By Dr. Salman Abu Sitta based based on coordinates collected by the British Mandate in 1923.
- Israeli towns (including West Bank's exclusive Jewish colonies) were all identified from information available in the public domain, mostly from CIA maps, tourist guide books, & World Gazetteer.
- All military installation were identified from information available in the public domain, mostly from CIA maps plus al-Safir newspaper finding.
As of now, we are double checking these coordinates (including the destroyed villages) for accuracy using Atlas of Palestine 's aerial view of Palestine before Nakba, published CIA maps, and other sources. We have made our best effort to verify and double check these coordinates from multiple sources, so by no means we claim 100% accuracy. In that respect, we appreciate pointing any discrepancies.
Our DATE is 58 years LATE, we shall return.

Welcome to Google Earth, congratulations on a comprehensive first post.
You might want to consider colour coding placemarks within each folder and providing a key within this forum.

From within Google Earth, it is possible to set all elements the same within a folder
For example, right click on the "Gaza towns" folder and select the "style, color" tab to give you a screen shot like this
Then click the share "style button" which should give you this
Then click on the icon at the end of the "name" box to give this
and then choose an icon for all placemarks in this folder.

Hello Beno,
I did some corrections, please see the posting to see that I have not miss understood you. Regardless, it was a good change, and I have taken it further to identify Israeli towns/ (exlusive Jewish colonies) by I in blue, W for West Bank towns, G for Gaza Strip towns, R for refugee camps.
