I don't find this one on your list -- Over the S.F. Bay salt pools. Looks like a jetliner banking right after taking off from San Francisco International.

I just discovered Google Earth -- what a great service! Also a very impressive community.

Thanks for posting all of these. Zipping from one to another is great fun!

Hi, Apicella.

This is quite an old version of the database and has not been updated for some time.

You'll find the latest copies here - these are updated daily.

Satellite Capture of Aircraft In Flight

Aerial Photography of Aircraft In Flight

Unfortunately the aircraft you have found is in the second one.

You might like to consider removing your placemark, since we can't afford too many duplicate placemarks!

Never mind, there are plenty more out there, so keep hunting and keep posting.

Cheers

Frank

FRANK:

Thanks for pointing me to the updated lists.

I see the previous marker posted on 9/11/05, so I guess I wasn't too awfully far behind the curve. However, there was no marker visible on the Keyhole Community BBS layer or the User Supplied Collections layer, so I assumed I was safe in posting.

Now I'm trying to learn how to unpost a marker and can't seem to find instructions for that in the faq or elsewhere. Could you point me in the right direction?

Best,
John Apicella

Hi, John.

No problems - just right-click on your placemark and delete it. The go back to your post, open it and select edit, continue to the second page, check the box marked "Delete this file/placemark", then continue to send the post again, this time without the placemark.

As for not seeing it in the BBS Layer, that only gets updated every 4-6 weeks, I'm told, so you can't really rely on it for up-to-date info. Best to use the files.

HTH

Cheers

Frank

Hi, Francois,

I can't see the aircraft at your coordinates. Would you put a placemark?

It's quite easy to add placemarks. LRae's lessons are well-written and will help you, I'm sure.

Here you go!

Cheers

Frank
