Globe not visible

I am running GE on Mandriva 2007 (cooker) with Nvidia driver 9629. When I start up GE, I get a circle of atmosphere with no globe in between, only stars.

I've been having the exact same problem. I'm running Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) and have the latest nVidia drivers installed. I've looked through all of the solutions I found in post "Things to do when asking for TECHNICAL SUPPORT", and none have worked for me so far.
RAM - 512 MB
Processor - Athlon XP 3200
Graphics Card - Integrated GeForce4 MX Graphics
GE 4.0.2413 (beta)
