Just was wondering what this was, its got electric fences around it.

Interesting looking place. My guess would be some sort of abandoned (?) agricultural operation, possibly a cranberry bog. There is an adjacent pond which may have been used to flood the field during the harvesting season. Also just a little west on Rt. 70 there is a large complex of what I am almost certain are cranberry bogs. Blueberries are another common crop in the area. At any rate the closely spaced rows seem highly suggestive of some sort of agriculture, but then again I could be way off. How do you know there is an electric fence around the area?

This used to be a blueberry field. It was plowed under by the State back in the '80's. Typical NJ mentality.

Just to confirm...it IS indeed an unflooded cranberry bog....it's technically STATE land leased to a local farmer for "X" number of years.
