Just a dozen or so sites in the ancient town of Pompeii, destroyed by Vesuvius erupting in AD72.

Edited placemark to include the Villa dei Misteri, as per thread below.

Hello.

I liked very much your placemarks.
I was only wondering, have you forgotten the Villa dei Misteri?

bye

No. I simply ran out of time. If you want to make the place mark, I'd be happy to include it in the complete on.

Hi, I've edited my original placemark and post to include your placemark. However - I had noticed that it was actually already posted in the BBS layer. So much blushing for both of us. As a result I will remove it my set again!

Can you edit your own post and remove the placemark now, otherwise we will get even more duplication when it's incorporated into the database?

of course I can; I will now.

But I must tell you, some BBS community placemarks are so "hazzardly planted" that I'd rather prefer ours.

Hi Vince,
I love your overlay, but how can I remove it occasionally? I'm a bit of a CI (comp. idiot).
Thank you,

Find the placemark in your "My Places", and simply uncheck it. Alternately, you can right click on "My Places" and select "Hide Contents", which will uncheck all active placemarks.

The Schutzstaffel (German for "Protective Squadron"), abbreviated SS, grew from a small paramilitary unit to an elite force that served as the Führer's "Praetorian Guard," the Nazi Party's "Shield Squadron" and a force with as much political influence as the regular German armed forces. Built upon the Nazi racial ideology, the SS, under Heinrich Himmler's command, was primarily responsible for the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Nazis during the Second World War.
