This is a tour around America of significant places for the Beats: Jack Kerouac, Neal Cassady, and others. This is a work in progress. There are many more that I could have put in the tour, but they would have been somewhat redundant and cluttering.
The tour is organized roughly as follows: First, Neal Cassady related sites. Then, Jack Kerouac. Last, San Francisco commercial and historical sites such as City Lights, etc. In the first two categories I put sites in a general chronological order.
Please visit my photo galleries of Beat Denver and links to three others at http://www.pbase.com/pzo/beat_tour . The other galleries include photos of Jack Kerouac's last house in St. Petersburg, Neal Sr's grave site in Wheatridge, CO, and the gas station in Longmont CO mentioned in On The Road.
If you would like to see a Beat site on this Tour, please email me, paulv (at) paulv.net
I wish to give credit for one reason or another to "Coastal Access" of GE, JJ Dorfner, Carolyn Cassady, Dave Moore, and Tom Christopher
Keywords: Beat Kerouac Cassady Denver Neal "San Miguel Allende" "Carolyn Cassady"

Amazing collection, Paul, and your website is terrific.
In case you'd like to include it on a tour, I've attached a KMZ for the apartment building at 1010 Montgomery in San Francisco, where Allen Ginsberg was living on the third floor when he wrote "Howl'' in 1955-56.

Thanks for your kind words!
I was out to North Beach, finally, in December. I need to make some tweeks on this page, and I'll include your Montgomery Street suggestion. Yes, I was right there.
I was a great trip; I'm part of a team making a documentary on Neal Cassady. I got to meet Carolyn, and we convinced her to come to Denver with John for the unveiling of the OTR scroll in Denver. What a blast!
Also interviewed Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
