At that length is must be the USS Carter. Of even more interest are the three Ohio class tied up to the dock. They can only be the boats we are converting to carry all cruise missiles, course they could be any Ohio during a re-fit. Looks like a Virginia and another seawolf at dock too. Like any other great nation America became powerful thru the sword.

THAT base my friends IS the sword.

The imagery of Bremerton was taken in early August 2006. By that time one of the four converted Ohio class subs, Ohio, had already rejoined the Pacific Fleet. The other Pacific Fleet ship, Michigan, is the sub in Bremerton without missile hatches visible. There is a very small chance that this is Ohio back in the yard for maintenance, but Michigan would then have to be in the very small area to the east where the yard is covered by older imagery, which is very unprobable. The other three subs in Bremerton and those at Delta Pier are SSBNs. It's interesting to note that seven of the Pacific Fleet's nine Ohio class subs are in port at the same time and are also in the same image.
The other two converted subs, Florida and Georgia, were converted in Norfolk, VA. Both are visible in GE and were already identified by Munden in his Norfolk post. Btw, I already identified all ships and submarines in Bremerton in this post. There is no Virginia class submarine there, at that time all of them were based on the US east coast. Texas is to be based on the west coast, but was commissioned one month after the Bremerton imagery was taken.

ps: The sub in Groton is too short to be a Virginia class ship, it is one of the first two Seawolf class subs, Seawolf or Connecticut.

For starters, this is a duplicate. There was no need to post this duplicate placemark given that your answer is in earthgoogler's Bremerton post. This conversation could have occurred in that thread.

As for your questions, only two Ohio class submarines, the Ohio and Michigan, were converted to SSGN here. The other two (Florida and Georgia) were converted at Norfolk, and in fact both are visible over there and yes, they are already labeled AND in the community layers for you to see.

There is no 'real time' but I think you know that already and are wondering how recent the image was. The image of Bremerton was taken on August 7, 2006 so it's quite recent. The USS Ohio was almost ready to head back to Bangor when the image was taken. When it did so, there were two dry dock shelters on its back, which might be visible on one submarine in this image.

The Ohio class which is in a dry dock is probably the Michigan.

The missile tubes will not look any different at this distance. They don't install one tube per cruise missile. What is installed is a missile tube sleeve containing several cruise missiles.

See this page about the USS Florida for an example.

Well, I think it is somewhat stupid to consider a "complete Harbour region" as a personal claim and that everybody has to wait or control patiently that the "owner" provides up dates of things what - regardig the date - were posted month before.
In this case: yeah, earthgoogler had that Jimmy Carter UpDate meanwhile as an update of a post he did originally in september.
btw: Michigan is the ship in the water and not that in the dry dock

I don't consider a complete harbour region as my personal claim. And you surely had not to wait long for an update of my placemarks. It happend that I saw the imagery update almost immediatly when it happend; the collection was updated something like 3-4 hours after the imagery update (Yes, I waited for a Bremerton update, that base was always the first that I checked when I heard of an update). I even posted a reply to the Bremerton post to bring it up to the first page of the forum. It's not about personal claims, it's about giving the author of a post the time and chance to update an existing post, especially when it is a labor intensive post like the Bremerton one.

My bad, I knew they are installed in the former SLBM tubes but I thought the large hatches were replaced by small ones for each missile and the forward few tubes removed completely to make room for accomodations. I was wrong though, some tubes got missile sleeves installed while others house equipment or accomodations.

I will stop trying to identify individual ships for now and give all posible choices in the placemarks.

It's not a matter of anyone claiming anything. What I stated was, you had your answer if you would've looked at that post first. The Jimmy Carter was already marked .. no need for wondering if that was it or not.

By your logic there's no point in posting anything. If everyone should just ignore previous posts and post yet another placemark to ask what something is, there's no point in having a community layer to see previous posts.

This is not what I mean. Its not about your effort or care.
Imagine the following:
Every interesting airport will get to someones "personal claim". So if someone else just find a F-22 at an airbase and check it out by searching for F-22 in the forum and then put it in a post, the following happens a couple of hours later: he is instructed how useless this was because someone meanwhile had an complete update of the whole Airbase of which the other guy might have never heard before...
That will kill the sense of enjoying and sharing spontaneous findings (by the way not with me) and lead up to a situation in which it is totally sensless to post single Aircrafts or Ships. The end is, that everyone looks for countries as claim and act like a master controller.
