Quality Movies vs. Time and Space

I was wondering if there is anyway of making movies through the high quality option that don't amount to to so much memory and dont take so long???

my settings are 60 FPS with resolution = 720 x 486

I am currently recording about 1 minute movies and it takes about 45-60 mins to complete the recording. Is this usual for the type of settings I have?

Do I have to sacrifice the quality?

Thankyou in advance for any help. I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice.
