Well, thanks. But be aware it's just a remake of the 2D version as mentioned in http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/2005/10/cruise_ship_pos.html
I like very much the 'Menu' -> activating nwl Follow ShipName will set or change the Cruise to follow; nwl Follow none will deactivate it.
These nwl's do not much more than change the name and href of nwl Updating Cruises/Following ...
Any other option could be set use these technics. I'll do solater.

The last couple of days, the server I get my data from, seems offline every now and then, resulting in errors. I think I made a work around. On the first message in this thread, I added a status image: Status:
The networklink will load older data instead of giving errors.
Also, I added a choice of models, since some people seem to think the original was to large (in details), others might prefer to sail the Titanic (2).
more than 3000 downloads allready!
Keep enjoying!

Hi,
I made a similar network link with 3D models of ships last summer. It was only in German, but I have translated it now. You can find it under the following link:
3D cruise ships
You can fly to a ship's view by double clicking its icon on the left. You get some information (current route, possibly a web cam picture etc.) by single clicking on the company logo above the ship then.
Have fun!

It's great! It's overlapping mine, but I like my model better. What I don't understand is the size of the model, it's covering a very large area, but the ship is only in a small corner of it?! I reckon you should aim your model a bit more north. A third thing is time. Its seems to be your local time, when your application gathered the information, rather than the local time of the ship. Alltogether a great collection.
