I am new to the GE community. I teach archaeology at a small college in Minnesota, USA. This winter I had my students create GE "tours" as part of a world prehistory class. The assignment required that they put together a series of placemarks for important archaeological or historical sites incorporating text descriptions, image overlays, web links, and a complete bibliography. I am posting an example of one my student's work. The attached file is part of the South America tour and includes the Cuzco portion. Check out my blog if you want to see a longer explanation of the assignment. (For some reason, I can't open any attachments. GE keeps giving me a "Could not open file ... for reading" error message. Please let me know if my attachment works.)

Hello,
The attachment works fine for me.;)
I like the tour, the pictures added look great and the explanations are also very interesting to read.
Great job.

Btw: maybe I overlooked it, but whats the url for your blog?

Hi Mieke,

Thanks for your reply. I just took a look at your Ancient Egypt site. It's amazing how clearly one can see those spectacular sites.

Here's the link to my blog.

Professor Hoffman,

I'm very impressed by your student's work. I really like the Puma map overlay on Cuzco. It is obvious students will play a large role in enhancing the digital globe, and your class is exemplary.

Please pass on my praise to your students.
