I do hope you keep participating. I think what we, as a group in this thread, are all pointing out the magnitude of the work to do, damage to repair, people and governments to educate. All ecosystems are in trouble and, of course, water is a life-or-death issue. I don't recall seeing much idealism here, more like a sense of regret for the past, urgency in the present and fear of the future.
