Hi all. I've had a search around but cannot get an answer on this problem. We have Google Earth Plus installed on a computer, using username1 and licence key A. We now want to use username2 and licence key B on that machine, for a number of reasons. (For the "why is he doing that?" squad: The old key and username is now being used on my desktop the new is for my notebook) How do you do it? I've tried reinstalling, editing the registry etc. Am I missing something? Both keys/usernames are valid, legal, paid-for, current etc, we just want to use them on different machines. I just don't seem to be able to find a box to delete the one key and enter the other. If you change the username at login, you get the "username doesn't match key" message.
Anybody with an idea. I have contacted support, but nothing from them yet. I also am aware of the problem being fixed with the Pro version but I have the Plus version with the same problem but no answers.

Again, as with Pro, you will have to contact the support team to get them to flick the magic switches.

G'Day again Tassie, hopefully you will get a responce very soon.
Admin from the GEC has requested the team from GE support to attend to all license key issues asap. Hope that helps.
Cheers.

I hope they wake up soon. I've been trying to get all of my GE programs going again. Since I renewed, I have had MAJOR problems (as it appears they have reduced the number of copies of GE Plus you can run). I had 4 or 5 copies running (on my various spare PCs) during the past year (I build computers and had to re-verify my acct quite often, too). I NEVER had any problems getting it to run. Now, I see they have forced it to only 2 activations per license.
So, I have 2 of the 3 copies able to work, but the third one is going ignored, apparently. I purchased a 2nd license, but can't get anyone to tell me how to change it on that machine. I too would like to see a MUCH better customer support program in place for this software, as it appears that it EXTREMELY slow to get any response...and then it takes another 2 or 3 days before they will see any MORE questions from you.
If they had some kind of response time LESS THAN 2 days, it might be tolerable.
Alas, I think they need some competition so they will not have this "who cares" attitude that they seem to have right now. No competition means they know we have no place else to go.

Well just to let everyone know that it took some time but they finally got around to fixing my problem. They even added the lost days onto my renewal. I guess the wheels turn slowly but they are effective. Thanks to all.

Just an update.
I sent in a request to find out how I can remove a key from my old laptop so that I can use the free version of Google Earth (I already use my 2 allowed activations on my PC at home and my current laptop). After 5 days (3 of them were business days) I have now been informed that Google will REFUSE to help me with a machine that has had Google Earth Plus run on it. They say that I MUST renew another account on it and can NOT revert back to the free version ever again.
Thank you for your note. Unfortunately, once you've upgraded to Google Earth Plus on your machine, you'll be unable to use the free version again while you have an active Google Earth Plus subscription. At this time, you'll need to continue to use Google Earth Plus on your machine.
What kind of LAME business tactic is THAT?!?
It's a bit like the Hotel California..."you can check out, but you can never leave."
So, if you EVER install and activate GE Plus, you will have to use it FOREVER; don't EVER think that you can just TRY (even after paying for the service) it and revert back. They know they have got you! Wreaks of AOL's past tactics of trying to stop paying for a service once you start it.
I will allow my current license to run out and that will be the last dime I send to these crooks. It's a great product, but they have the WORST possible customer service I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with.
I think a call to the consumer protection agency, BBB, and my local Attorney General is in order.
