We are near completion of our new data visualization tool, EarthPlot, for Google Earth. A free version (limited functionality) is now available at our website for download. The full version should be available in a few days and will be priced at $29.95.
Description:
EarthPlot is a data analysis and visualization tool for Google Earth. EarthPlot processes geographic based data to generate a variety of maps within Google Earth. Data can be imported from several ASCII data formats, in addition to being copied directly from a Microsoft Excel worksheet. EarthPlot is also capable of downloading topographic maps and aerial photographs from Microsoft's TerraServer to supplement Google Earth's imagery. EarthPlot is compatible with all versions of Google Earth - including the free version.
Maps:
EarthPlot generates the following type of maps within Google Earth: post, contour, trajectory, graduated symbol, raster image, and spider.
I have attached a KMZ file that is a combination trajectory and graduated symbol plot created from NOAA data of Hurricane Emily. I will try to post additional files over the next several days to give everyone a better idea of what EarthPlot is capable of.

This looks like a very interesting and useful tool. Unfortunately, the link to the evaluation software doesn't seem to work...

The download link has been fixed. It was working with Firefox, which I use, but not Internet Explorer.

Hum... doesn't work...
I dowloaded and installed the software and I get an error "unable to write file" when I try to save. The file is created and full of my datas (100 longitude + latitude + 1 column data).
When I try to export to KML or plot to GE I have an error "An unhandled exception has occuredin your apllication. [...] Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.
And EP returns to its main screen.
And saved files cannot be read "Error reading file" and the data screen becomes grey. I have then to shut down EP to get the data screen back because even creating a new file is not possible

Nice. Works as described. A nice feature would be to plot the value at altitude based on the value (essentially a 3d plot of points in the file using the value as the z). It looks the Appearance only extrudes to a selected constant value for Elevation. If each point could be extruded to its value or another column with a z or altitude, this would be great.

Wow, ask and ye shall receive! Great! Only thing is the value for the elevation seems to be set to meters. If you use the equation function to factor to feet, it seems to come in at 0.
Keep up the good work and I'll send $.
