A warm welcome to my lil' forum here.
Here you can and will find all kinds of sites to view.
For example, how about a ride on The London Underground
Maybe you're driving into London and want to avoid the London Congestion Charge Zone
What events are taking place this year which could affect National Security
Like to view military bases? - You may like Redstone Arsenal
Perhaps you have a few $133million lying around and want to buy yourself a house.
If you're off on holiday soon, perhaps I've posted the nearest embassy!
The world communicates in increasingly complex way, so lets not forget where much of it start - How about some morse code
Interested in business, then I expect you regularly check on the Fortune 100 list
Overall, I hope you enjoy my forum, but also keyhole as a whole
Enjoy! Cheers, Phil, UK

Hello Phil: I'm new to Google Earth and have a question that I posted but no one answered. Since you have your own forum here, I thought you might be expert on some of these questions. I wonder if you know... why is it that resolution differs across the globe? I noticed that when I looked up my house, I could see cars but not people. When I looked at a city in Holland, I could actually see a person riding a bicycle, it was that clear. Then when I went to look at the Brooks Range in Alaska, I could not get a clear image from lower than 50,000 ft elevation. A rural area in Nevada had poor resolution, as did a rural area in California. The whole country of Ireland seems to have poor resolution. Why the differences, and is there anyplace I can go to get a list of which areas have what type resolution? Also, when were all these images taken? Same time or different? When I looked up my house, it showed a tree in the backyard that was removed about 8 months ago, so the image is at least that old.

Hi Riverblue,
Quote:

This is because we obtain the imagery from a variety of suppliers. These different companies offer a range of products, and so this gives a varied image resolution database.

Unfortunately there isn't a list available. The database is too large to have a relevant list of places.

Different times. The majority of the imagery is 1-3 years old although there are some exceptions where either the images are much more recent or older.
And, here are some more answers to more questions about data
Welcome to Google Earth Please fly safely.
Thanks, Phil
