____________________________________________ Shrines of Great-Hungary

-----_____________________________________------- Holy Statue of Máriabesnyő

History of the holy shrines tells a lot about Hungarian history of the previous thousand years.
The shrines that are in the territory of present day Hungary (Belső-Magyarország) are supplied with short English comments. The shrines can be grouped differently.

There are shrines with a holy well. These are places where one can heal if drinking or bathing in the water. For example:
(Magyaregregy, Tétszentkút, Karancsság, Csicsó, Petöfiszállás)

There are shrines where holy statues or paintings are help to cure illnesses. For example:
(Gyapa, Péliföldszentkereszt, Osli, Mátraverebély, Egerszalók, Hajós)

There are shrines which were rebuilt after the Ottomans ruined them holy paintings or statues always miraculously survived the flames:
(Szigetvár, Szeged, Celldömölk, Papd, Jászberény, Szécsény)

There are shrines where the holy paintings were cryed or bleeded:
(Máriapócs, Kunszentmárton, Györ, Görcsöny)

There is also a shrine where if someone prays under the painting about the Holy Virgin Mary than the marrige of that person will be happy. (Budapest-Máriaremete)

Visit them all and heal!

A 2007. évi Feltámadási menet húsvétkor elindult!
A Kárpát-medencébe eszmeileg egy szívet megrajzoló, Zamárdiból és Tihanyból két ágban kiinduló és pünkösdkor a csíksomlyói búcsúba érö 3000 km-es menetet 98 stációtelepülés és számtalan közbensö fogadó hely közösségei alkotják. A kezdeményezés a határon túl élö és a belhoni magyarok közötti összetartozást, nemzetünk egységét és krisztusi jövöjébe vetett hitét demonstrálja. Kiváltó oka a 2004. dec. 5-i gyászos esemény volt. Részt vesznek benne katolikusok, reformátusok, evangélikusok, unitáriusok, görög katolikusok és olyan magyarok is, akik útjukat keresik a Megváltóhoz. A Feltámadási menet szalagokkal egyre "pünkösdibbé" váló, Árpádkori-motívumú szárnyas keresztjét egyik közösség a másiknak adja át.

A zászló Egerben csatlakozott, s mindkettö Pünkösd napján érkezett Csíksomlyóra. Köszönet Barta Józsefnek a képért!

Thanks syzygy! I actually knew about that one and have used it before. But you know, I think all online translators should be classified under "Humor" anyway

Thank you syzygy and heamit for your good words, and for correct interpretation! I was alfraid to put religious material up as it is clearly advised to keep clear GE of it in the Not Do's . But I think it is important to distingush politics from religion and be able to remember it as a part of history. More important thing is to keep religion alive.

Thank you Gábor and thank you heamit!
