As each day passes --the prospects for a happy outcome fade. The fact that 6 unknown plane crash sites have been found in this area -shows how hard the task is.
Some of these wrecks might actually be known.but since there complete wreck list, its hard to say.
People have been crashing in this area since the beginning of flight (well almost), and planes that went missing more than 3 decades ago, would simply have been written off, unless someone important was onboard.
Hikers report these things now and again, but if the site is old, the report might not go any further.
All that said, its a HUGE area and small planes have totally dissapeared in areas less than 1/5 that size.
If Fossetts aircraft had landed, it would be intact and could be spotted from G-earth. If it truely crashed (but since the emergency location transmitter was not activated, it might not have impacted hard) such a light aircraft crumble into nothing, and might not be spotted even if walked by a few years later.
Since the emergency location transmitter was not activated, its possible that Fossett attempted to ditch the plane in a lake, rather than attempt a landing in a heavily wooded area. The plane would sink and hopefully the pilot would swim ashore.

My find 4 this topic, check tha measures and the suspisious shape
Its worth reporting, but since there is no way outside Mturk to do this, i guess we must hope someone spots it there.
However, I think its unlikely a bellanca decathlon would remain so intact, if forced down in that area.

I'm sorry poor Danescombe, but you ARE in ERROR! It isn't on the older image.

This plane has not crashed, but is flying. It might very well be part of the SAR effort.

Has anyone seen this plane and if so could they add it to the overlay that include the other sighting?

How can the plane be flying if one of the wings is lying feet away?
True it can't..
Your coordinates got me to a picture, where a plane is flying.
Could you post the kmz instead?

Can i suggest you check your facts first before you crawl over other peoples posts?
In your haste --you failed to take in account the fact that the GeoEye overlay does not line up with the GE data. The GeoEye data lie 965m south of the GEdata

People on this board have been told to check the old image by clicking off the overlay, nothing more...but thanks!

Additionally, the placemark stays in the latest marked position. Not a good thing if you have to revert back to former GE layers FOR ANY REASON.
To the uninitiated, a lat/long marking should be the same from overlay to overlay, it is the same place. If this isn't the case, the SAR CREW could have the exact lat/lon of the crash and never get to the exact spot, where the crash is located.

may i ask if there is layer with all these 'known' (charted and newly found uncharted) crash sites ?
if it was easily available then number of false reports drops ...
*************************************************************************************** All known sightings HERE
