Google Earth Community: Hadrian's Wall

I've just returned home to North Carolina after three weeks in the UK -- 8 days of which were spent hiking Hadrian's Wall from Newcastle to the Solway Firth. This was an adventure a friend and I had planned several years ago -- it's hard to believe it's now over!

We had wonderful experiences along the way. Not only was the walk a diverse and exciting adventure, but we met several couples whom we befriended -- one from the UK, the other from the Netherlands. It became a sort of "where will be meet them next" game -- at a rest stop along the trail, a city crosswalk, a B&B, in the middle of "nowhere"??? Walking though a city, stopping at a traffic signal, look to your left or right, and one of our new friends might be standing there!

However, most of our companions along the way were sheep -- fields and fields of sheep! Certainly nothing to fear -- they ran from us. We decided the all the "baa's and meh's" meant "run for you life -- the humans are coming!!" However, the sheep did have their own "ammunition" . . . watch where you step!!!

A great trip, a great adventure, a great country -- highly recommended!! I'm just sorry it's now over!!
