I've heard the brothel story too. I think that fits the Union Tribune story I mentioned in an earlier post about Neptune's Castle and not this structure. (I left a link to the article as well).

From the picture in that article and the 5 story description I don't think this is Neptune's Castle.

Interestingly this structure (what ever it is/was) is now in the nearby Marine Group Boat Works. It was moved there sometime during the week of 6-2-2008.

Attached is a photo of the structure in the yard. Compare that to the Neptune's Castle description.
