The Largest Mosque of North America, Baitun Nur in Calgary, has been inaugrated by the His Holiness Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba), Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community on July 4th, 2008, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Caliphate Centenary year.

Area: 1.5 hectares with 48,000 square feet Prayer Area, 7,400 square-foot multipurpose hall

Capacity: Can accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers in main halls, with additional space for overflow

Facilities: Library, Play areas for young children, Boardrooms, quarters for a live-in custodian, Dining hall, Commercial-style kitchen, Stage and gym-style floor for sports, banquets, weddings and social functions

Cost: $14 million contributed by the community's members
