"Human Connections: polarized light mural

The remarkable interactive polarized light art (Polage) mural in the Mugar Imax wing was created in 1987 by artist Austine Wood Comarow and her husband David Comarow. Titled Human Connections, it portrays the history of communication. It is created entirely without pigments, using the principle of physics known as 'birefringence' in polarized light.
