Hi All-

I had the same situation after installing GE 4.0.1694 (beta).

Tried clearing caches and increased memory...still no globe!

Finally, what worked for me was: Preferences>(in the)View tab>Graphics Mode> use safe mode .

That got the globe back and I was able to switch back to High Color (16 Bit) or True Color (32 Bit)
and have had no problems since. Hope this helps ya!
